Look Up

Socially Overlooked

In our society technology is quickly evolving. There is always a new device, item or thing. You can't possibly keep up with all the innovations. The issue is technology is evolving to be so good that reality is becoming hidden within a cyberspace. We are shifting our focus from the good in life to the good in the next big thing. Once you realize it though...how much time you really spend with technology...you have an opportunity...an  opportunity to step back.

Looking at your phone you miss your surroundings. You miss saying hi to people you may know, you may miss someone in need, or you may miss your soon to be spouse. Looking at your phone you may walk into something you don't see, or may end up hitting a car that sneaks up.  Looking into a screen you can see what the online social interface thinks but then you miss it...the peoples opinions who matter most.

Think of the purpose of each device. A cell phone is used to call or text. It has a purpose to get you in contact with people you care about. It isn't meant to replace them. A computer is meant to work on for office, school or just to have fun. A laptop is not meant to replace every paper with documents. A laptop is not meant to replace every physical conversation with a virtual one. A laptop isn't meant to take away all your free time.

The more technology develops the more you have to stand your ground. You have to actually limit yourself. It`s sad to think of if playgrounds were to one day be replaced with computer labs which students would play games at. We need to have not just virtual interaction but also verbal interaction. When people are hiding behind their device at a dinner table because you don`t know the person across from you it has gone too far. You need to meet people, think of how people met you.

Connecting to people by putting away your mobile devices is important. Now we live where people often find it awkward to look each other in the eyes. That is disappointing because you are missing the meaning to a conversation. As a theatre major, when I have acted I have been told to look people in the eyes. Actors are told that all the time because it evokes emotion and it brings meaning. Often the actors will even look at certain audience members to bring them into the scene. There is a reason for it but people are afraid. People are hiding behind their phones because they are used to the bonds they already have with the virtual world.

Look up. It is as simple as that. Put down your phone and look at the people you talk to in the eyes. Sincerely get to know the people around you. It is getting easier and easier to isolate yourself in a world of technology. Having your own phone, computer and other devices in your own room. You feel like you are alone because we are often separated in our own homes, rooms, cars, and lives. You are not alone though. There are people all around you except you often miss them because of some device.

Parks are becoming less and less used by kids as technology develops. Schools are having to adapt to technological changes. News is now given online which includes video or media clips. Your personal information is becoming more and more voluntarily given to the social world. You are posting more of your own photos, posting more of your own videos and even giving more of your information. Dont just be liked in the virtual world let yourself be loved in the physical one.

Imagine this... you are sitting at a table and forgot your phone. Someone joins you at this table to eat their food. Are you more likely to spark a conversation since you don`t have your phone? The answer is yes. While you may not realize it the less you have your phone the more forced you will be to have a conversation with others around you. You could meet your best friend, your date, your spouse, or even a future employer. The fact is being integrated with a technological world of opportunity shy`s away the opportunities right in front of us. The number one way to show someone you love them is to spend time with them.

Think of why you love your parents, siblings, relatives, or really good friends. Think of why you love your dog, cat, hamster, or pet. It is because you spend time with them in a physical world and less in a virtual world. Your parent(s) or guardian(s) raised you. They took time away from their phone, computer or electronic media to spend time with you. You did the same for them. You spent time with your pet in person. You were looking out for your pet just as your parents were looking out for you. Looking out for someone shows you care and it is more meaningful to lookout for someone in person rather than in a virtual world.

"Thank you for looking out for me." I am sure you have heard the phrase. Think about when you have heard it being used. You may have heard it from one good friend to another. You may have heard it when someone was preventing another from getting in trouble over nothing. You may have heard it when someone was going through a life struggle and a person came through from them. Now truly think on it and you will realize that very seldomly do you hear this being used due to help over social media. Why? One on one interactions IN PERSON is more meaningful.

I didn't write this post to bring you down and make you feel like we are in a technological cage and trapped without a way to get out. I wrote this to make you realize the technology we have is a supplement to our life it isn't meant to replace it. You have the keys to unlock the technological lure that we are in. The lock is right there but the question is will you unlock it? Will you take a few moments each day in a step away from technology. Making yourself get far enough away that you are able to interact day to day without a fear to look people in the eyes. Giving yourself confidence is not something that anyone said would be easy. It starts from stepping away from the technological trap many fall into though. Public parks are there for a reason use them. Dont let it get to the point that people start looking at parks as pointless. The scariest thing is thinking of a little kid going to a park and questioning what do I do here? Imagine if you had to explain the fun behind sliding down a slide. If you had to explain why swinging on a swing is fun. Imagine if you had to explain the fun in hopscotch and foursquare. The day people stop going to the park is the day technology goes too far.

So look up. Be aware. Be Conscious. Put  your phone down. Make eye contact. Have meaningful conversation. Take time to listen and add value to your conversation. Don't let a bright screen hide your face, the world wants to see you.

This has been a piece brought to you by Robert Warren. I hope you enjoyed it.

"Aspire to Inspire"

"Aspire to Inspire."
-Robert Warren
==============================================================

I have came up with a quote that I am trying to live by:

"Aspire to Inspire"

==============================================================

Imagine a world without inspiration: no role models, no heroes, no inspirational figures.

It would be a dark city missing the light.
A sought thought without the sight.
You would be searching with no one leading the way.
You would be missing tomorrows today.
What is a world with no inspiration alas?,
Is it a world not being held in the netted cast?
A world simply hanging in the sky
With no reason to live and no reason to die
A world not inspired lacks what we need
A spark of inspiration, a little seed
We need to plant a reason to grow
And spread knowledge of what we know
If what is inspired ever does die
Then the earth shrivels in sigh
Inspire who you can, more than a few
Next needing inspiration may be you
Lit world is reason to inspire
A glow lifting people higher
Imagine lights only a few
Growing vastly among you
The streets lit there is not night
Because you can bring the light.

"Fight Night"
-Dont fall into the dark
-Dont simply embark
-Dont be a missing star
-Find a reason to drive a car
-Lead the road on which you drive
-Because you are being alive.

Musical Reflection

==============================================================
A soft pale finger touches deep blue sea

This water you say is reflecting me

The effect of the ripple reflects suns gleam

The pace you feel takes the stream

The shining reflection in moving waters abide

Reflect the melodic rhythm inside

Watching the gleam can blind your eyes

Causing the waters tears to rise

Apprised the water steams up in mist

Causing waterous eyes to drift

Soaking your heart ado

This isn't fire

Burning higher

This is the water in you

The water is music each tone in the gleam

This is the music of the stream

Drifting waters cause tears to rise

Causing what we know as tides

Tides of people rushing in

To hear music flow again

(By Robert Warren)
(Creator of this Blog)
==============================================================
This poem is one cultivating an idea how music is a moving entity as like water. As water is a substance that evokes a mood, so does music. These two things are reflective. People come to water as they go to music. Coming with an expectation of something great. Passion is evoked through a carried flow, a carried tone, a carried emotion. It is something moving. Take the stream and drift because the inspiration behind what can move you is quite extraordinary and should not be overlooked.

Clouds

==============================================================

This is a facebook post from a scholar named Eric Richter, a friend of mine. Recently I seen this post and realized it was too good not to share. I got his permission and now gratefully present to you:

==============================================================
Realtalk Incoming
By: Eric Richter

So it's around 7:30 and I'm walking across campus towards my car, listening to Unraveling from the Shame soundtrack through my headphones. The track is completely beautiful and serene sounding. One of those pieces that make you forget everything but the music and the emotions you're feeling because of it.

As I'm listening, I notice the sky and there are these gigantic clouds settling over the horizon, the tops of which are perfect white, but cascade downward through a perfect sepia gradient, all the way until they blend with the grey sky. You may have seen some people posting pictures of these clouds on Facebook, but I sincerely hope you saw them in person because there is no comparison.

Anyways, I'm walking, staring at those clouds, and listening to that track, thinking about the trees and the clouds and the grass, and eventually everything that holds any relevance in the world was absent from my mind. There was no love, hate, war, peace, ideology, politics, dinner plans, YouTube videos, homework to do, nothing. None of it mattered. It was like I was looking at the world without blinders on. Almost as if I was seeing the future, or the end of time, where all the answers are given to you. It was like I knew the truth of the world.

I realize that sounds like I'm on acid.

But all of that happened simply because I was admiring the natural, artistic beauty of the world, and listening to emotional music. Tomorrow I challenge you to keep an eye out for the natural beauty of the world, and appreciate it for what it truly is.

"Stillness is when time stops. It can be the time it stops just for you. This is an opportunity. Back away and look at what is there. Dont miss it because time may never stop again."

"Looking at the clouds can only work with imagination. Have you no desire to look at the clouds then you will not be able to reflect on it. Have you no reflection then you will not be able to better yourself and it would all be because you didn`t stop. Not even for a moment to look at the clouds."

"Nature is there. If we miss it then it is our fault."

"Nature is here for peace as clouds are here to drift. Wind is here to feel as you are here too."

THE CHANT OF INSPIRATION

THE CHANT OF INSPIRATION

Inspire a nation
With inspiration
Thats the chant today
Inspire a nation
With inspiration
Hip Hip Hooray!

To inspire a nation what do you do?
Well that is all up to you.
There is a thing to inspire a nation
It is called inspiration

Provide that and you will see
An inspired nation or country

Inspire a nation
With inspiration
Thats the chant today
Inspire a nation
With inspiration
Hip Hip Hooray!

Did we inspire?
Asks the choir.
Of all who joined the chant.
Did we inspire?
Asks the choir.
Or did we just rant?

Those looking to inspire.
Looked around at the choir.
What is it we need to do?
Can we just join in too?

Sure says the choir.
If you want to inspire.
You can join in too.
To inspire,
Says the choir.
Well that is all up to you.

So those looking to inspire,
suddenly joined the choir.
Then they chanted again.
Against the evil that is sin.

Inspire, inspire!
Yelled the choir.
Come and join right in.
Inspire, inspire!
Yelled the choir.
We are fighting sin.

Then the choir,
sang higher,
to reach the stars above.
Then suddenly from nowhere came a perdy dove.
The message the dove carried was held within view.
The dove chirped and handed the choir a note labeled to you.

Reading it to the choir,
Was those among the higher,
The note said to sing on,
The inspiration cant be gone.

So the choir sang away,
To this very day.
Now thats what choirs do.
Inspire more than a few.

Songs of music songs of chant.
Songs are not meant to rant.
They are made to inspire.
Now do this with your choir.

Inspire, inspire, more than a few.
Once inspired there was you.
It was you who joined the choir.
Now you need to inspire.

Inspire a nation
With inspiration
Thats the chant today
Inspire a nation
With inspiration
Hip Hip Hooray!

THE CAT AND THE DOG IN:

THE STORY OF CHANCE
(Artwork and story by Robert Warren)
(Creator of this Blog)

Chance
Undercover 1920`s the dark mist of the air
Complete nothingness but all of cat stare
Glow of the eyes, the cat comes near
To those who run in fear
Take a chance, Take a chance the cat said
Claws only come out in my scared evil head
A dog approached and scurried in tear
Come dog, please dog, please come here
No cat you are insane
Your eyes glowing in vain
I know what you want me to do
How could I trust you?
Take a chance dog, I will bring light
The dog scurried scared of terrorized sight
Next day the dog came back again
There was the cat of evil and sin
The shadows covered the cat
The fedora was a visible hat
Dog smoking in fear
The cat said come on come here
The dog said I heard the stories
About how coming there will ruin glories
I am better than your shame
You think I am completely insane?
I am appalled yes but not evil like you
I know cats can ruin good few
Just like the rest you are morally wrong
I don`t fall in coming to song
Come on dog the cat said
Dont listen to thoughts others embed
The dog looked and thought and then left
The dog did this just like the rest
The cat broke out into tear
As no one thought the cat could fear
I am stuck here the cat said
I am trapped in by my looks embed
I am alone with no one to trust me
Because of the cat eyes they see
What is it that is wrong?
I want to escape my prolong
Trapped here with no friend
I am scared my day will suddenly end
As I am here without a prance
Because my legs were cut off by chance
When the mower ran over them see
I was the one who got them cut off me
Now I am trapped and all alone
Because no one took chance and only did groan
The cat looked up as the eyes did fade
Into the end the cat could not evade
Cat never had even a chance
Because the dog was scared to glance
At how he could help the cat
Before the situation came to that
Now what is the dog to do
That is completely up to you.
You see life in your own perceive
The dog seen just an evil seed
But evil never did actually spawn
The story of evil did not prolong
What is the dog to do?
Find out in poem 2.

Chance Poem 2
Help! Help! Said the dog.
There is a cat dead to log.
I need help right this way.
Because a cat died today.
The police came to look at the case.
Seeing the cat of evil waste.
The dog glimpsed as they pulled out the cat.
It was not wearing a fedora hat.
The cat was a kitten, young to squeak.
It was a beauty of the meek.
The dog, just a puppy was in awe.
With that he killed perceiving what he saw.
The ringing ambulance took kitten away.
From the shadows to the day.
The kitten had all its feet?
The dog remembered something discrete.
The dog thought he knew what he saw.
Completely wrong, hes still in awe.
Then the dog found a note.
Sent from when the kitten wrote.
I am alive the note said.
I wanted you to take a chance in your head.
The kitten was me but you called me a cat
I was a little sad by that
I wanted you to open your eyes and see
The suddenly real me
I wanted to change your life for the day
Please forgive me doing it this way
The puppy dog wanted now to find
The kitten that was not evil but kind
To teach the dog what he thought he knew
About the cat from dark hue
The next journey you will see
The ending of this in poem 3

Chance Poem 3
The kitten was lying in the hospital on a bed
Being checked on for things the call said
The dog then did rush in
To see kind cat not of evil sin
Opening the door the dog did find
The cat lying on behind
Cat, Cat are you ok?
Are you hurt in any way?
The cat responded no sir I am not
Just hurt by the things you thought
Why are you here then? even at all
Cat responded, because of your call
The dog gasped and looked at the cat
A kitten with all feet still intact
I heard your feet were cut by the mow
The cat responded, really? no.
Rumor has it that that is true.
Because of a dog I knows not you.
Thank you for coming here all with a chance
Now I will have to ask friendly dance
To leave the hospital and escape the evils we see
Realizing that helping people was meant to be
You can perceive evil among the good
It does not mean that you should
Try to understand things like this hopital in fact
Understanding why people act
Just the way like we do
Let me take chance with you
I know at first you seen me bad
Puppy I may have even had
Somewhat perceived the same in you
Now lets leave just us two
So they left and went on there way
Spreading light that created the day

Realization, The Epiphany Of...

"Whatever is dead, whether it is a dead body, mind, heart, or soul; recollection and realization can raise the dead. That alone is the epiphany of a new beginning." -Robert Warren

Hello,

Fellow readers I am having a special on this blog. Right here, and right now. I am trying something different for this time only. It is very unlikely you will see another post like this. My goal is to reach peoples minds through this and make people have a "wow..." sort of moment. Nevertheless, I realize that this is not going to reach everyone the same way. Hence, the style change for this special on my blog. Thank you for reading and I hope that this will blow your mind.

How this is different: I included both a piece and a description for the three poems. Elaborating on concepts that may seem elusive at first. Expanding on the ideals behind the poems I am hoping to catch the depth in peoples minds. Please +1 this is you really enjoyed it, share, comment or follow. Remember, it is the readers that writers live for.

Written below is three pieces. Enjoy:

PIECE:

Treated With Sugar

Sweet life which we breathe
Is sugars rush from asthma wheeze?
Chocolate treats in good of life
Omits some of dental strife

Candy coating of what people see
Candy cane twist of mystery
Gummy centers are inside
Of the sour that some seem to hide

Puckered face and a thirst quench
Sugar rush in just a pinch
Flavor burst in just a chew
How would candy describe you?

DESCRIPTION:

"Treated With Sugar" is a poem by Robert Warren. It is the story of how life can be both tasteful and bitter. Examining how people see both the best in life or sometimes the worst. This is a true example of how the mind can affect reality. Even the air we breathe. The way we take air in and release it affects other people. It is the air that causes both tension and relaxation. It is an energy from the force which is the human being. The human being is both sweet and sour. Many flavors and tastes, is there ever a way to make a candy close to perfect? Now what if that candy is a human being? Now what if that human being is you? -Robert Warren

PIECE:

A New Day

Sitting here typing to all whom may read
Everything that their life may need
A life full of needs is selfish in fact
It's about learning to give back

Sitting here is you a stranger all alone
May need people to fill hearts home
Reaching out fills the empty heart
It keeps society from tearing apart

Reach out call to others to learn
It takes communication to make words turn
Turn, turn the wheel of you
Make the wheel turned by two

Pour out hearts water to spin the wheel
Of how people really feel
Flood the scene and walk away
With a new flood brings a new day

DESCRIPTION:

"A New Day" is a poem by Robert Warren. Looking at what it means to give. It starts with realizing that no matter who you are that at some point you have taken from the world. It is a poem not focusing on the sorrow of taking but rather on the meaning of giving. It is a poem making you realize that everyone is alone until they choose not to be. Going from being inside to being outside is all a choice. You can tell a blind man that they can`t see, but they may tell you the mind can see far beyond that of any set of eyeballs. The act of being alone is done through emptiness. When you go towards communities of people, friends, family, whatever, it takes words to truly bond. Interacting takes at least two people. Collaboration changes people when a group decides to interact. The change may be small but that is until you really understand the individuals. Sometimes people may fall way down, but it takes falling way down to be able to be picked way up. -Robert Warren

PIECE:

Dynamite

Blow, blow, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Explosion which looks like sun
 Blown temper up and gone
Unable to belong

Come here, Come here said the water spout
And it blew water to temper it out
The fire was out and it could not blow
Because water made sure it so

Water was boiling and about to heat
When air began to seek
With the swoosh to save the rook
Saved the water from the cook

Eat said the cook to the people he speak
Enjoy your food to make you weak
But the evil cook was all wrong
It was the food making people strong

Lighting that spark that blew peoples mind
How could fired up people be so kind
The fired up people were set to cast
Memories in others that could last

Memory lane can you recall
How the dynamite started it all?
The fire that blew up was unkind
But it had some things on its mind

The water that put it out began to broil
To rid the heat of turmoil
The cool air saved the rook
From the sins that is the cook

When eating, people actually got strong
Fire became right from an evil wrong
Memory now do you recall
How the dynamite started it all?

DESCRIPTION:

"Dynamite" is a poem by Robert Warren. Exploding from the get go; this piece examines how fire was the cause of all misery. Coming from an explosive temper this dynamite is ticking out of place because of the fire that lit it. This personified fire ideology is looked at to see how out of place a fire can be before something good can come of it. This fire goes from being this bad thing to something that was actually quite empowering. Looking at how watching out after one another makes a difference this piece eloquently is meant to demonstrate how good things can be from the things seeming bad or wrong in life. It is a way to study oneself on an idea of am I doing the right thing? Then begs the question, are the people around you doing the right thing and can you help them in achieving the right from what appears wrong? A piece that can touch on a variety of subjects is written for you, the reader to interpret it as you wish. Remember, dying is only a belief. Think about that. If you believe it is alive, you can create the unseen. Whatever is dead, whether it is a dead body, mind, heart, or soul; recollection and realization can raise the dead. That alone is the epiphany of a new beginning. -Robert Warren

Transform

Transform
You go through an ordinary day
Speaking words you usually say
You are repetitive it may seem
Until you catch a new days gleam
Transformation more community enhanced
Once you reach the community you become entranced
The community of friends, don't be afraid
You need to make someones day made
Go out and explore the world unseen
So you can be someone else`s  gleam
Transform your mind, heart and soul
Turn things to sharp when they are dull
You need people reach out to a group
Try to get involved and not lose your scoop
Groups may be awkward for about a week
That is until you truly speak
Talk strength into the weak
There is a group waiting for you
This is your opportunity, you know what to do
Meet people with a smile and the words you want to say
Because it is an opportunity to make someones day
Transformation usually happens in a group
so get involved and get into the scoop.

(Poem by Robert Warren)
(Creator of this Blog)

Scoop up:           Hearts,                        Minds,                     and Souls

"Scoop the heart, mind and soul of others. It is that scoop that waffles your life. Without the scoops from others  you may melt away opportunity for the transformation of yourself."

"Transformation occurs through change. It is a development. If you don`t allow yourself to develop to change, then you are missing out on a transformation."

"Scoops are not all the same, but that is what makes each scoop unique. When you start combining scoops you can create things larger than the scoop itself. The topping to all of that is the transformation that occurs to each individual scoop in the desert of many. "

(Quotes by: Robert Warren)
(Creator of this blog)

"Transformation is when you see why you are here and act on it. It is realizing that you need people in your life to become greater than yourself. It is the friends that create friendships. It is the family that creates the family tree. It is the relations that create relationships and it is you that creates yourself."

(Quote by: Robert Warren)
(Creator of this blog)

"The sky exists with the clouds, the sun, the moon, the stars and the breeze. The sky does not live alone. The tree exists with the water, the sun, the breeze, the leaves, and the animals. The tree does not live alone. The river exists with the fish, the seaweed, the branches and the rocks. The river does not live alone. Sometimes humans think they are alone. But why? They have the sky, the trees, the animals, and the people around them. No matter where you go you are never alone. Transformation is realizing that you are never alone and acting on it. Realizing you have communities all around you. Your friends, your family, your relationships are all communities you have. Now that you realize you are never alone it is your choice whether or not you choose to transform your life. Get involved with the people around you. You have something to contribute to the group that no one else has, you. "

"Communication does not have to be verbal. You can walk across a room and that alone can tell who you are. The way you walk is how you present yourself to the world. Your expressions say how you feel. Look at the whole picture and communication is truly running on endless possibilities."

(Quote: Robert Warren)
(Creator of this blog)

Communication
Language is an interesting thing
Sitting there on this communication train
You would think of it as being lame
Until you see how it some the same
Understanding each other through words, we talk
As we communicate even in our walk
Looking at our stance
Creating a dance
Performing a piece
Or rests of cease
We are all here
With some emotional fear
Remember, everything you do
Is creating you
You are unique
To the words you speak
So speak to you near
Because it is you that is here.

(Poem by Robert Warren)

"Don't present yourself into falsehood. It is the realm of always thinking things will get better tomorrow.  Make it better today by positive thought and things will get better on their own. You will then be able to handle the situation better. It is the mind communicating with you on how your daily life will be."

Lightening Up Your Life

The Purpose of Light
Light a life, light it now
Make a difference, holy cow
Light a life, light at me
Making a definite somebody
Light a life, light and say
Notice the difference of today
Light a life, light a life
Don't only nearly strife,
You are a somebody who can be
If you only wake up to see
Wake up, wake up, wake up now
And make a difference, holy cow
Wake up, wake up, wake up and see
You  are a definite somebody
Let in the light,
Don't fall to fright,
Wake up and see what you do
And why there's a purpose behind you
The purpose is you, the purpose is now
Wake up and say I am changing and wow.
Change for the better of the people you see
And why talking takes a we
Two to converse in meaningful talk
There is a purpose behind every ought
Stop saying ought, but rather just do
Because there is a purpose behind you.
Light a life and the darkness will fade.
Making others lives made.
There is a purpose in everything you do.
Let that purpose make up that you.
Notice the goods among the bad.
Making the smiles instead of the sad.

"You are you for a reason. You are not me nor are you someone else. You have a purpose and as long as you try to find it, you WILL make a difference. You might not always notice that difference, but the difference may notice you. You have to go for your goals because without dreams, there can be no fantasy. Without that fantasy we are only left to go by the facts. A fantasy is what sets you apart because believers in fantasy can sometimes make the best reality."

"Believers in fantasy can sometimes make the best reality."
"Relality can be your dreams if you make it."
"Dreams are a figment of my imagination? Well, not once I make my dreams a reality."
"Light is what ends the road of darkness."
