Being Fortunate

Being Fortunate
By: Robert Warren

PLEASE SPREAD THIS ARTICLE

Authors Note:

Hello readers,

This blog post I am VERY excited to share!!!! I am VERY passionate on the topic and hope you will be too. I included: the article, a breakdown, questions, activites, and different areas you can explore. Enjoy!

The Article:

You walk in the door after a long day of work, take off your shoes, and walk inside your home. You sit on the couch in the living room and just clear your mind. "What a long day. I can't wait until the weekend. Hopefully it is not as busy tomorrow." There are a lot of thoughts that pass through your busy mind. "Wait--oh, no. I think I am hungry." You head to the fridge, open it, and look around to find something. You decide to just make a t.v. dinner. You read the instructions, put it in the microwave and get yourself a drink while it finishes. The microwave rings and you pull it out, being careful not to burn yourself. You set it on the table and grab your silverware. You grab your drink and head to the table. You begin eating and realize you need to get up to get a movie. You head to the dvd shelf located in your room which stores all the best dvds. You think about which one you want and finally pick one so your dinner does not get old. Now lets evaluate the situation.

The Breakdown:

You walk in the door after a long day of work, take off your shoes, and walk inside your home.

*Many people are searching for a job and you have one. You have a place where people count on you to do your work. You are important to the company and fortunate to have a job. You take off your shoes that someone made and someone else is begging for. You are fortunate to have them. You have a home which is a humble place of comfort, peace, and inner strength. This home is also a place of gathering maybe with others, or maybe this is a place to gather yourself. Regardless this home of yours, you are fortunate to have.

You sit on the couch in the living room and just clear your mind.

*This couch you are sitting on took time to create. Somone had to think "oh, I want something to sit on. Something soft to sink in. I want something I can get tired on and be comfy without getting hurt." That idea then had to be created into action, and was developed to the couch you have today. Again, you are fortunate even having a spot to clear your mind.

You head to the fridge, open it, and look around to find something. You decide to just make a t.v. dinner.

*This fridge, this thing keeping your food cold, you are fortunate to have. Think of all the food that would melt, spoil, or get old faster without it. This storage device is here for you and hides all the food until you open the door, fortunate, yet again. Now the t.v. dinner. The food you can cook in minutes. The food keeping you from having to cook. The food that comes in a box so you dont have to wash a plate. This t.v. dinner is there to make your life simpler, and that is another reason you are fortunate.

You read the instructions, put it in the microwave and get yourself a drink while it finishes.

*You are fortunate it came with directions. Imagine if there were no recipes, no prepared packaged food, and no prepared ingredients. You would be trying to cook mindless and that food probably wouldn't taste nearly as good. Just think about it. Think if there were no drinks prepared. You would probably be drinking a lot of water that wasnt even fresh. Gross. Nevermind the drink itself, dont forget how fortunate you are that there is something to put the drink in.

The microwave rings and you pull it out, being careful not to burn yourself. You set it on the table and grab your silverware. You grab your drink and head to the table.

*You have a table to put your food on. This table is flat and even so your food balances on it. This table is made at good height to suit you. Now think how fortunate you are. Think about how much thought must have gone into deciding the height of the table. Consider how they even had to ponder the weight and how movable the table is. Now the silverware, the odd shapes that go into creating each utensil. The silverware is made each with a different purpose. The spoons purpose is to scoop. The forks purpose is to pick up. The knifes purpose is to cut. Think about it, and later even consider what the purpose of other objects/animals/or people might be. Think of how fortunate you are to have silverware and a microwave. This microwave if you think about it is a device to cook inside your home. Consider how fortunate you are to be able to cook indoors, in minutes, and in warmth.

You begin eating and realize you need to get up to get a movie.  You head to the dvd shelf located in your room which stores all the best dvds. You think about which one you want and finally pick one so your dinner does not get old.

*Being able to eat is truly a prime example of something you should be fortunate for. As you know many cant eat, but you can. Think about how fortunate you are to be able to enjoy the feel, smell, look, taste, and sound of food. Think of the many different types, textures, and varities out there. Think of how fortunate you are to have fold from different areas of the world, as we are allowed to trade, and import food. Now for the dvds. Look at your dvds and image if each were only $5 how much is on your shelf. When I thought about that it inspired me to write this article. If you dont have dvd's, look at cd's or other materialized items you may have. Think about each dvd and how silly it can sometimes sound when you say: "I can't find anything to watch" when there is a shelf full of dvd's. Also think about how fortunate you are to have these moving pictures on your screen. Think, motion pictures, pictures that are in motion creating the video on your screen. Now you can understand how fortunate you are tp be able to watch the video. Think about how fortunate you are people are acting, writing, directing, and teching those films. Think about how fortunate you are that a great film is great. How those actors work so well collaborating together. How the technology is working so well. Appreciate the fact these films can to create years to work on, edit and design. Think about how fortunate you are to eat multiple times a day.

Now take a step back.

You can read, appreciate that. Apprectiate the fact you have internet to look at this blog. Please appreciate the writers, as they appreciate the readers. Without the readers there would be no need for writers. So in the end I hope this blog post helped you realize how fortunate you truley are. I didnt even discuss how fortunate you are for math, science, education, transportation, mechanics, or social media. Think about where you are fortunate.

YOU ARE FORTUNATE. SPREAD THE WORD.

Things to Remember:

The key to being fortunate is to appreciate the most minute of details. You need to understand all you really have in order to understand you were fortunate all along.

Being fortunate isn't something that you have or you dont. Everyone has it---just to different extents. It is just a matter of realizing you have it.

Unfortunate things are also fortunate. The question one must ask is---how?

Activities:

-Tell people you appreciate how fortunate you are they are in your life.
-Do a collage for someone of things you are fortunate for.
-Make a list of things you are literally (not mentally ) fortunate for & use that list as a scavenger hunt.
-Try to be more others more fortunate you are in their life
-Try to surprise someone to show them you are fortunate of them

Questions:

-What does it mean to be fortunate?
-Who is fortunate?
-What are you fortunate for?
-What are things or areas of your life where you may have missed the fact you were fortunate?/How?

Explore:

-Realizing where you are fortunate
-Seeing the details (Stella Adler)
-Being in the moment (Meisner)
-Seeing things you would normally miss (Uta Hagen)
-Looking at mechanical drawings of things
-Looking at the science behind things
-Seeing who is really involved in things

Thank you for reading. I haven't posted on my blog for quite awhile but had to because how moved I am on this topic. If you enjoyed reading, PLEASE SPREAD THIS POST. I am very passionate on this one and would love for others to read this. Again thank you for reading.

"Without the readers there would be no need for the writers."

The Tree

The Tree

The tree, the tree
A leaf saying pick me, pick me,
What could it be?
The leaf did see,
It was something meant to be.
So said the tree,
If it's meant to be,
What is it that you do see?
I see something blue,
That is the tree of you,
Though you do appear green,
You are not like you seem,
There is water near your stream,
Of what you claim to be green,
But the water is deep blue,
That water is in you,
No matter what is seems,
The tree is not always green,
For the leaves, they do fall,
From the tree that grows really tall.
You are not what you appear to be,
That`s why I said to pick me.
I want to show you more,
Of life and what you can explore,
Look at the details in the stream,
Running water has a gleam,
In fire there is spark`s light,
Though that spark may really fight,
Sparks don't always come alive,
That fire has a dive,
It is something that can cool,
So don`t be a fool,
Look around and see the grass,
A thing that seems to last,
While you grow, you drift away,
 To the sky of today,
That sky is your dream,
Of the life you have never seen,
To reach the sky you have to make right,
The obstacles that you may fight,
Though you are a tree and you called on me,
My leaf may fall in the sea,
When the water gleams the day,
Don't give up because you say,
I am only what I look and that is green,
Forget what color it may seem,
I know trees can be blue,
I am the wise leaf you never knew,
This an old wise tale of the tree,
Of the story of why you called on me.

"Don't only believe what is obvious. Don`t only believe the facts. It is the details that make this life amazing."

"The tree thinks it knows everything. The tree may think it understands the grass, the water, and everything involved in a tree's life. It takes one leaf to show the tree what life is beyond a normal life. It takes the grass swaying a different way to make others think differently. It takes the stream of reflection to see what lies beyond the normal habits of life. Acting out of the ordinary is what makes the ordinary extraordinary."

Thinking On Fishy Thoughts

The Fish And The Dog,
A Special On This Blog

The Fish And The Dog
Dark blockade emitting a flash of light,
Creeping around to seek out the sight,
The sight`s light gets brighter as the rays do gleam,
The light is nothing like it did seem,
An amber burst of sunburnt ray,
Is burning the heat of another day,
Candles do gleam as the light may last,
Upon the reflection of the past,
Waters reflect light as they do swoosh,
Upon the water is prancing pooch,
The cold water flicks up as the pooch jumps,
Over the underwater rocks and bumps,
The pooch soaks in the waters drizzle,
Getting the rays of the sun`s sizzle,
The pooch looks fish in the eye,
The dog is smiling upon a sigh,
The dog`s bark`s are not weak,
Once the dog starts to speak:
"Fish, fish, come here
I will stomp and you will fear
Fish, fish, if you swim away
You will regret a wasted day
Fish, fish, lets have some fun,
Ready? Go. Now run"
The fish swam under the sea,
The fish: The dog is after me!,
The dog: Fish come this way,
The fish: No not today,
The fish swam and the dog did run,
For the dog this was fun,
The fish just wanted to swim away,
and hide just for one day,
Who are you the fish or the dog?
Think it while you do days clog,
Think of this poem in a new way,
and how the light affects the day.

"What is today but yesterday's future?"

"You can only work on tomorrow with a today."

"Thinking a thought is a skill, acting on a thought is a talent."

"You can make the day anything. You can make it good or bad. You can make the day an 18th or 19th century masterpiece. You could make it a 21st century modernization. You can make the day realistic or make it a fantasy. You are in control. The day gives the circumstances. You give the actions. You are in charge so make this day yours."
"When you are tired of the night; bring back the day."

"A fish is a swimmer that sometimes goes to the bottom of the sea. A fish is flowing around the world taking it at a slower pace. Some fish travel in packs. Fish are curious and observant. Fish hide. Fish get tricked and some get hooked. Being pulled up by the world around it. Fish are risk takers, are you?"

"A dog sees the day as an opportunity. A dog brings the energy and joy that many need. A dog can walk anywhere and bring happiness. Many humans struggle with this. It's because we let logic ruin ours and others imaginations. Never kill your imagination by sticking to logic."

Scrubs... The Lessons To Be Had.

Television

Television can teach us a lot,
It's not just a box to be bought,
The bright screen with shattering rays,
Gives us the lessons of these days,
Look at the messages, only what is right,
Let television be more than a box with a light.

MY QUOTES ARE AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THIS ARTICLE
DON'T MISS OUT!!!
(Past the picture quotes)

There are many lessons we can take from television themes.
Depending on the shows we watch.
One of my favorite shows is scrubs.
So I want to share a link to the themes within the show.
Before you click the link, let me tell you my favorite theme.
My favorite theme is from Episode  12 of Season 3.
The episode is called "My Catalyst"

As quoted from Wikipedia, the theme which J.D. Says at the end of this episode is:

“Everyone’s got their own burdens, and I am not going to be the one who dumps mine on somebody else.” None of us need anything. Owning your burdens is half the battle. Turk knows he will eventually have to decide what his priorities are. And Dr. Cox knows he needs to find something else to hang his hat on. Still it’s not that daunting if you look around and see what others have to deal with.

Below is the link if you are interested in more:

It is not very often that I share links, so enjoy!
(Just to make sure you found it...The link says: Scrubs the Lessons)

Also it is good to have a few quotes to reflect on.
Here is more quotes than you probably needed:

Quotes

Find quotes that mean something dear,
Use them and get bubbled in cheer,
Quotes are there to find your unique,
Brining words to those whom cannot speak,
Find a quote or mabey two,
Because that's how you find you.

(Poem by Robert Warren)

Heres a quote I created to show what you can do:

"Use the brush of today to create the picture of tomorrow."

Heres a quote I want to find a meaning in you:

"You are a sailor who sails on a quest. You are a pirate hunting for  your best. You are a storybook character roaming to find, the storybook which tale is bind. You are a warrior fighting the obstacles your way. You are the future of tomorrow so show it today."

Here`s what you should do with these quotes:

"Don't let these quotes go to rest and simply just be. Take these quotes on your journey along your life's sea."

Cheer!!!!

Cheer Leaders Vs. Cheer Followers

Cheer!!! Cheer!!!
Cheer here!
Cheer here!
Never fear,
with cheer here!
Need a dose? Take some more,
This is what we are living for,
Cheer here!
Cheer here!
Never fear,
with cheer here!
Joy to the land and home of the free,
Able to discover who we can be.
Cheer here!
Cheer here!
Never fear,
with cheer here!
Joyful in jubilee,
Shouting bubblie,
Cheer here!
Cheer here!
Never fear,
with cheer here!
Bring the light to the dark,
Wait until there is a spark,
Cheer here!
Cheer here!
Never fear,
with cheer here!
Cherrio and smile to see,
this is who we were made to be!

"The frowns, anguish and deceitfulness of life takes people down a course of obstacles but it takes that course to win the race. It takes that person to realize its not their shoes going slow, it is them. The slowest person has two options: 1) Focus on the negativity which is the slowness... Or... 2) Realize it then change for the better. If you want to change, then make a difference. You can't do things the same or things get boring and dull. You have to decide that you will put in the effort, then you will get it, cheer. The audience will have been cheering you on, because when you thought your shoes were making you slow, they were the ones speeding you up as they pick you up along the way. The audience is cheering for you and hollering for you to find joy. That audience is your friends, family, colleagues, staff, workers, educators, mentors, or by any other means, people associated with you in a positive way. These people will cheer you on but it is up to you to  run."

"Cheer! What for? Happiness."

(Quote by Robert Warren)

"We can all bring each other up or we can all bring each other down. Either way though, we are all in this together. You can be the bringer or the taker. You can be taking happiness or giving it. You can absorb energy or produce it. The choice is up to you."

"Cheer-I-owe: Just say that and think about it."

Never fear,
with cheer is here!"

Generosity

Generosity, a choice

Generosity peaks in, and greets you good day,
There is dropped papers, and you help put them away,
Picking up and lending a hand,
Building a castle, not crushing the sand,
Helping another, with no benefit in mind,
Simply doing, an act of the kind,
Kind people are not blurred but rather seen,
Because they are very keen,
People act in kindness, but cats also do,
They give humans something, to look forward to,
Dogs are mans best friend, as they greet with a jump,
Some dogs are small, some dogs are plump,
Generosity exists, among us everyday,
But it's up to us, to find it and to say,
I really appreciate what generosity can do,
So I am going to help another starting with you,
If everyone starts helping, just a little bit more,
Think of how your generosity, can really explore,
You made a difference, yes it is so,
When you make a difference, your thought does not go,
You are remembered, as a generous unique,
Everyone is generous, its kind of a treat,
Generosity starts now, it wasn't backed then,
So let your generosity, fire up yet again.
You got this, yes you do,
Now generosity, is up to you.

(Poem by Robert Warren)
(Creator of this Blog)

Lend a hand to others.

One day they may lend a hand back to you.

Generosity can be contagious.

Generosity is what you make it.
So make the most of it.

"Generosity is the act of seeing the help and acting on what someone needed to see."

"Generosity cannot be done if you are expecting something in return."

"The best kind of generosity is the kind done with care and without thought."

"It is kind of amazing to think about how someone has to need generosity in order for someone to be able to give it. If no one needs generosity, no one would really accept it for what it is."

"Generosity sometimes helps you more than it helps them."

"Don't say I should, say I will."

(Quotes by Robert Warren)

Be generous, because once you are, you will feel like this:

And that is indescribable.

(Awww...yes)
